Please refer to post #136 for proper treatment, as the condition you have may be fatal.

Face it. Guild Wars is aimed at casual gamers. It's why I like it. WoW however is aimed at hardcore people who enjoy spending hours upon hours farming and stuff.

Really stop and think.
You're saying that you find value in an item only because other people don't have it, but wish they did.
You're saying that you find enjoyment not in what you have, but in what other people lack.
You're saying you're only made happy by other people being unhappy and not getting what they want.
You're saying that if everyone has what they really want to have, you're angry because it's no good unless someone is suffering and jealous of you.
I don't know which is worse, the fact that you are so absorbed in your own vanity, or that you want a system that actively encourages jealousy and covetousness in others.
I think people tend to look at people that use the word "evil", and think they're some sort of fundamentalist nut, so I'll use the word "bad", instead...
This is BAD. Very, very, very BAD. Neither GW, nor any other game, nor anyone in real life should encourage this sort of thinking and behavior.
Yes, most MMORPGs are intentionally designed to be addictive, and use this bit of human nature to their advantage, but that doesn't even begin to make it right.
Please, just think for a moment.
BAD.

Although i disagree with OP and his hardcore ways...your post made me laugh.
If you think that is evil/bad...you have either been spoilt or taken care of. good luck.
I shan't explain why. It is simply not understood until you are a little bit more ....experienced shall we say

No, it's a view that IS experienced. One that finds value in what one has, as opposed to someone who believes that value is found only in comparison. You are saying that someone has been spoiled if they find vanity & self absorption bad? Dunno how that qualifies for maturity, but whatever.. Gotta love when people poo poo on standards..
Keep truckin Rhedd!

And that my friend is exactly why i did not explain it. Why explain something which leads to an inconclusive arguement that is totally relied on winning a few sentences by the opposition? You just summarised that you did not get what i am talking about.

18 hours of game play. TOTAL = max lvl, Most elite armor in game, best runes, best incription, fell blade max stats max inscription. Best Farming Builds available through Tome usage. Total cost 150k.

...and in your opinion the most elite armor in the game is what? how many elite tomes does 150k afford you? your number is way off one way or another.

pft elitism is good. its wut drives economies in real life and in video games. but remember, this isnt the real life. relax its just a game. im pretty sure i would be considered a hard core player, but i cant relly care if other ppl get good items. so what if crystallines are more common. ill always have my old school cry, so i can feel nothing but joy for poor ppl who get to a cry too.

Nightfalls brought Inscriptions. OH THX, cool so the 10 req 9 15 ^50 Fell Blades I farmed jsut droped to 25% of their current market value Over Night. WOW, so there goes 5 months of Farming in my off time. To gather swords, That I would have eventually Sold. Because you wanted to do what? Make it incredibly easy to get the best weapons/skins in the game? I mean WTF is the point anymore.
And now TOMES? are you Fing kidding me.

so for 150k and 18 hours I have just BEATEN GW for life. There is really nothing else to want. Yeah I diddnt max out titles, or beat all 3 campaigns FINE. But is this a Single player game, where beating a story line is the point?
No its an MMORPG where getting some piece of armor or a weapon or skill that some one else doesnt have is SUPPOSED to be the point.
I look around any town and see nothing but l337 characters fully tweaked out. I cant remember the last time I saw more than 2 characters not wearing 1.5k or higher armor in the same place.
So whats next? Are they gonna input a Farm somehwere, where Dire Blackwidows spawn. And you can warp there from ascalon for 10k. And jsut tame one. Yeah that would make sense.
Seriously if they take my black widow away, and make it really easy to get Im gonna fing quit.
|
So because you've unlocked everything in the game already through your MANY hours of farming, you've got access to it for your new characters so you can build up your newly created personnage rather than passing once again MANY hours of your life on building them up? And this pisses you off how?
GG on telling everyone what this game is supposed to be and how we're supposed to play it - I didnt know what the hell I was doing until you came along and enlightened me.

On a serious note, if by casual, you mean that I don't need to play/grind of 18 hours a day to feel like I've accomplished something, then please explain how that could possibly be bad.

I'm sorry, but it's this attitude that has me worried about GW in the first place.
